Apulia is a dry and carsic land, at least it was, before this majestic work solved the biggest problem of the region: water. The works started 1906 and lasted until 1939, bringing the waters from Basilicata and Campania to the whole Apulia. Nowadays icludes a idric network of 21.000 km and has no comparing facilities in the whole Italy. A splendid project foresees the future of the Apulian Acqueduct, made of walkable canals and stone bridges the permeates the landscape, as the biggest european bike route. Already today the acqueduct is the perfect place for trekking excursions and small walks among the Nature.
