The 100th Tour of Italy, or Giro, in Alberobello – the 7th stage Castrovillari-Itria Valley

During this year's famous Giro d'Italia, when this important event celebrates its 100 years, the most famous cycling competition will stop by in the magical trulli capital.

The route of the 7th stage of the Corsa Rosa starts from Castrovillari on May, 12 and continues on mostly flat the Jonic coastline. Then the competitors will scale the Murgian hills nearby the Bosco delle Pianelle Forest. Next the cyclists will reach the most picturesque towns of Itria Valley: Martina Franca, Ceglie messapica, Cisternino e Locorotondo tp finally reach the photofinish line in Alberobello, precisely in Largo Martellota.

The route is not very difficult and will give a chance to the sprinter teams.

The whole Alberobello town can't wait the 7th stage of the Tour of Italy to arrive, becoming literally pink. Alle the streets are decorated to celebrate the event. Also fairytale trulli are dressed up with pink flags and illuminated by Tour of Italy's official colour in the evening.
