Cuzzedde (snails)

In August, the snails multiply and rest in the barren Mediterranean scrub, often creating fascinating landscapes, whitewashed due to the high number of shells. By feeding them with flour, snails in pot give an amazing flavor to their sauce of spices.. Hard to find but definitely worthwhile.
